Classical Meets Contemporary Culture

Orchestra Noir is not simply reimagining what an orchestra can sound like — it is reimagining who orchestral music speaks to.

Founded in 2016 by conductor, composer, and arranger Maestro Jason Ikeem Rodgers, the Atlanta-based African-American orchestra celebrates the cultural achievements of Black music pioneers across classical, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and R&B. With a sound that bridges concert tradition and contemporary culture, Orchestra Noir has brought its genre-defying performances to major cities across the country while earning national attention for bold collaborations and sold-out concert experiences.

Under Rodgers’ visionary direction, the ensemble brings orchestral scale to music that feels immediate, communal, and alive. The result is a concert experience that honors legacy, expands audience connection, and reminds us that the orchestra, and its listeners, continue to evolve.
