Heritage Finds a New Voice

For pianist and composer Camila Cortina Bello, music is both memory and discovery. Drawing on her Cuban roots, she weaves Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz improvisation, and classical influences into original works that feel deeply personal while speaking to universal themes of identity, resilience, and belonging.

Now based in New Jersey and an active presence on New York’s jazz scene, Camila has quickly emerged as one of the most compelling artists of her generation. A Yamaha Artist and recipient of Chamber Music America’s 2025 New Jazz Works Grant, she has appeared at leading jazz festivals throughout the Americas and collaborated with acclaimed artists including Paquito D’Rivera, Dianne Reeves, and Miguel Zenón. Whether performing solo or with her ensemble, Camila invites audiences on a musical journey where tradition and innovation meet—creating performances that are both intimate, emotionally captivating, and linger long after the final note.
