Brand New Day
The epitome of Black Girls Rock, Anita Lofton is recognized as one of the top DJs in the Bay Area; a maverick who was music editor of SF Weekly, opened for Little Louie Vega, played for national touring acts, and formed the legendary all-Black female punk rock band Sisters In The Pit, that toured and opened for the equally legendary Iggy Pop. And as if that wasn’t enough, this talented guitarist, singer-songwriter and bandleader is back with a brand new project, a new sound, and a new album: “Brand New Day,” relishing her brand of vintage rhythm & blues rock and rich instrumentation, infused with bountiful Bay Area energy.
