Performing professionally since the age of 16, Denita Asberry grew up honing her skills by emulating Aretha Franklin, in part due to her striking resemblance to the young Queen of Soul. Hard work paid off, leading to a role in the award-winning Aretha Franklin live tribute show “Legends in Concert”, with touring, Vegas and cruise ship engagements soon following.
A seasoned performer both nationally and internationally, Denita saw a resurgence into the soul music genre and created a new show, Soulville – Respect To the Queen, which covers every fantastic aspect of Aretha Franklin’s career in an unbelievable and uncanny production. Soulville has received overwhelming support along with a ten-date tour to include a symphony orchestra! With such a bigger than life sound, it’s an Aretha Franklin dream come true!
