Hun Rock
Founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia by their producer Dashka, along with the members Gala, Jaya, Temka, and Enkush, The HU combines rock music with traditional Mongolian instrumentation like the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), Tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), Tumur Khuur (jaw harp), guttural throat singing with bombastic bass and drums, to the delight of heavy music lovers everywhere! Named and inspired by the Hunnu, an ancient Mongolian empire known as The Huns in western culture, some of the band’s lyrics include old Mongolian war cries and poetry perfectly blending tradition and modernism with a sound that is distinctively HU!
In addition to spectacular original music, The HU share their appreciation for and influence by today’s modern rock groups. A HU-influenced cover of Metallica’s Sad But True gained over 7 million views within 6 months and grows daily. The HU are taking the world by storm!
